Matt joined TDB Advisory in 2017 as an independent contractor. Matt graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Finance and minoring in Economics.
Prior to joining TDB, Matt worked in corporate finance roles at Quod London, the Bank of New Zealand and the National Australia Bank, the Treasury’s Economic Research and Analysis team and the CCO department of the Wellington City Council.
Matt is passionate about writing, the arts and public speaking – taking on the lead role in the Selwyn College Annual Shakespeare at Otago University, receiving the top debating award at the intercollegiate moots and is currently finishing his first book. After graduating, he fulfilled a dream of cycling from Amsterdam to Florence across the European alps.
Matt has worked as an analyst on a variety of reports for TDB, much of which is confidential, otherwise including – our review of New Zealand eScience Infrastructure, our review of the Electricity Authority’s liability limits, incorporating harm reduction in tobacco taxation, our submission to the Commerce Commission on the WACC for energy network services and the 2019 Iwi Investment Report.
